I had this pain between my breast that felt like something was stuck there and I could not really get my breath. After a minute it went away. I had one on April 5th and another one today May 4th.
My Doctor tells me that a surgeon will not operate if the aneurysm is below 5cm....my last US said that mine was at 4cm and my Doctor has me take a US every 6 months. Is he correct on this regarding the size? Everything eles seems to be fine.....no pain whatsoever....I have been exercising with weights.....not over 50 pounds in any exercise......should I stop? will this enlarge the aneurysm????

Almost 4 years ago, Aug. I got attacked by a cow at work. Yes, a cow! She came at me and was ramming me into the fence until 3 other farmhands got her off me. My left shoulder had a bad tear in the rotator cup; fractured my lower back; had bad bruising, you could see the fence pole marks across my thoracic back which ended up w/bulged disc. Well since this accident I've had to have my appendix out March '08 then my gallbladder. I think about a year later. I've since been checked for stones that may have gotten left but nothing. My pain is just behind my right ribs curling my fingers deep just around the rib bones sometimes I can feel a hard marble sized thing then I rub and pressure it will ease the pain.
I was on high doses of Prednisone(65mgs.)titrated down over a period of 3-4 years for the tx. of temporal arteritis.Every so often, I would get excruciating pain that would run up my back to the point that I had to drop to my knees and lay on the floor until it passed. Years later I would go to a N.D. and she sent me to a gastroenterologist for a potential problem with celiac which was negative but the doctor thought she heard a brui and sent me for an sonogram which turned out to be possitive. Sometimes I would wake up and night to roll over and it felt like I had a brick in my chest. It scared me and I also could feel a heart beat in mystomache. I always dismissed it reaction to stress. Now I am scheduled to see a cardiologist in September. Have no idea where that will take me. It is small so it may be just watch and wait.

Recently diagnosed with 4cm AP ascending aortic aneurysm. Iihave moderate pulmonary htn and take sildenafil. There was no report of this one year ago with catscan or mri. I was kicked in chest by horse 15 yrs ago otherth this no precursors. Can sildenafil precipitate this and isn t 4cm in one year pretty dramatic?
I began to have increasing pain in chest and back after straining hard to pull up some floor boards during a remodeling project. I have never had hypertension, not overweight, do not smoke, drink or use drugs. I went to ER and the only thing that gave some relief was nitroglycerin so they did a ct scan. I had two aneurysms. The one on the descending aorta was dissected at 4.5 cm. I had open surgery with dacron graft. Recovery is much longer and more painful than I expected. After 8 months I still have chest tightness, pain, am extremely tired and short of breath. Found out I have a biscupid aorta and possible genetic vascular disease. I would advise anybody who has surgery to be aware that recovery is a slow process and never lift heavy things or strain yourself if you have an aneurysm.

Had some back and shoulder pain, just figured from a normal day work. Then I got weird feeling in leg, it just felt heavy. I ignored all thinking just normal stuff with age (just hit 50). My wife insists I have a life-line screening done. They find a 6.2cm AAA bulging on both sides. Sent me directly to Dr. He made referral to Heart Specialist, but they can't get me in for 2 days. For now, I'm just sitting here praying it doesn't rupture before anyone has time to help me. DON'T IGNORE SYMPTOMS - get checked right away, insist on scans! My wife originally had me go 8 months ago for physical because she "felt" something wasn't right. I had no "symptoms" they felt were worthy of a scan, that's why she went the Life Screening route. I sort of laughed her "feeling" off as well. Now here we are. Don't let this happen to you. I went to my Dr. For a problem unrelated to this. He said he felt my heart beat strongly in my stomach. Wants me to have an MRI, or CT. I am waiting to hear from his office w. Approval from my ins., to find out if it is an aneurysm. My friend's husband, in his early forties ,had a rupture. Is alive and well , thanks to great medical care. Hasn't had a problem since his recovery. I can only hope I am that lucky.
I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AN AORTA ANERISM @3.9 BUT TOLD BY ONE DR. IT SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF NOW, BUT A SECIOND ONE SAID NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT. Who do i listen too???

At 54, I survived a ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Jan. 18th, 2011, I'm speaking from firsthand experience I thought I had bi annual physicals, had no idea I had an aortic aneurysm! No sign or symptoms until: As I reflect back my symptoms include: I remember my eyes would sometimes blury or act as if they were crossed eyed vision. I recall getting cramps in my lower back area and these lower back cramps began to happen often; I would lay on the floor, ball up/fetal position and raising my legs up in the air the back cramps would release and go away. I fainted/passed out while being interviewed for a transfer request by my employer. Awakened by my employer, he said he would get someone to take me to the hospital, but made me promise that I would go to the emergency room. And we did. I was in the emergency room all day laying in real pain in the lower back area, but this time no matter what I tried, the pain would not release. Late that same afternoon, while lying in the emergency room, the AAA ruptured, and emergency surgery followed. I lost 10 pints of blood from the time they wheeled me from the ER to the Emergency Operating Room. My abdomen was swollen as if I were 9 mos. pregnant as the result of the amount of blood loss within just a few minutes. I'm so lucky to be alive. For me, I was at the right place at the right time thanks to my employer's encouraging word to get this check out right away.
