Will the test tell?

3 non smoker male 6ft 3 363lbs. TKR both knees last year .  A week ago I could not catch my breath sharp short chest pains. Hospital stay and  tests run included Nuc Stress Test and Echo.  B/p highest was 196/110 otherwise generally 150/86  with a pulse of 60.  They did not want to give me more b/p meds cause they did not want my pulse to drop.  Sometimes I break into sweats.
I am now at home and recently learned the following My grandpa and Uncle had ascending aortic anyurism, Uncle also has diabetes several people on grandmas side with diabetics grandma COPD, aunt COPD uncle also had Lymphoma cancer aunt breast cancer both breasts. Dad died from COPD and Pancriatic Cancer, another Uncle died from Pancriatic cancer age 67. QUESTION WITH THE Nuc Stress Test and Echo SHOW if I have a ascending aortic anyurism. Would there be symptoms? Chest pain worse today but I do not plan on going back to the ER. Is the family info useful?

Your comments are on the right track with me. I was told I have pre type two some years back and recently I am making changes in what I eat etc. I am 53 and weigh 363 as I said in my last post. Anyway I recently found out my testostorne levels were also very low. I am being treated for it. Your suggestion about nitro is something I will talk to them about. Today I had chills and was light headed for a while and went back to bed. I felt like my insides were shaking. (NOT A PANIC ATTACK).  Anyway I had two pains on the left side of my chest andpain in my left arm.  I so hate the idea of going to the Er.    I will get back to you... got to go and thank you again.

Thank you so much. I seen my PCP today and she sent me back to the ER for a CT scan of my chest which check..ed out fine  I had 3 nebulizer tr.eatments in a row and got my breath back but My diastolic was 117 . I have never given up on anything but it gets so confusing at times.  I told them about my skin burning sensations and they said sounds like neuropthy or suger but when I gave them all my symptoms they did not want to hear about the neck pain or suger symptoms. They only wanted to hear about my chest being on comfortable and my breathing problems which were obvious.   I feel like the boy who cried wolfe and very embarrassed. I know I will breath good for a short while anyway.  Also I have been on a beta blocker for 3 years as it is the only bp med that works and my pcp thinks that could be the cause.  I am working on losing weight and recent ly lost 14 pounds for no reason.   ....  Sorry to sound like a  victum or like I am having a pity party. I just got home and feel very down as I feel like I cannot express myself correctly and they do not seem to consider the person as a whole.  Thank you so much for your well thought out answer! I will re reed it and pay attention.  I do not feel like much of a man anymore as I cannot do the things I have always done.

I would suggest that you contact your doctor tomorrow and let him know what you have discovered about your genetic history.

I think the Echo would include a test for an Aneurysm, at least, my recent one did include that report.

That said, you have some serious risk factors for heart disease and other related issues, all related to diabetes.  I hope you are packing Nitro pills and taking one when you get chest pain, and hope your doctor has instructed you how to take them.  I'm sure you have been advised to lose weight.  You didn't mention diabetes, but if you haven't been diagnosed already, it is a sure thing you will, and heart disease, pancreatic cancer and aneurysms are all directly to diabetes.
Many of us on this forum have reduced risk factors by lifechanging dietary, exercise and good drug choices.  Keep us informed.
