Worried about problem

Please help. I have been having a sore neck for about 4 months now. I went to an ENT and he said that my arteries in my neck are inflamed and that I sould that Tylenol for two weeks and it sould go away. If not I need to com in for a CT Scan. I have been taking the Tylenol for three days now and nothing has changed. I would like to know what causes this and what else could happen from it. Is there anything else that I can do to get better. Also what would the CT Scan show. Please help I am worried sick about this.

Thank You

Yesterday I went to see my diabetic Dr.  She didn't has my report back yet.  She called the lab for result.  All my cholesterol result were under 1.xxx something except one is 4.xxx something.  She said I wasn't the patient fall on this category to use "Ezetrol".  She took it off and said that I don't need any cholesterol med anymore.  I stopped after the blood test.  My neck is not hurt anymore.  I'm so happy and she is niceeeeee.

Gosh, if I know she can take it off like a piece of cake.  I didn't have to cry in front of my cardio (He told me I need to take the diabetic and cholesterol med for the rest of my life).  He was so angry and mad on me.  I think he doesn't want to see me anymore because I was too naughty.  She took off my diabetic med for six months (my cardio knew it).  Now she put it back with another type.  This type can lose weight and also I can have sweets when I took it.

When I got my full report, I post here again and show you the normal range scale.  I'm sorry, I don't know how to convert the numbers to American scale.

Yes, I was given Simvastatin 20mg at night.  My legs cramped a lot, a lot... hardly to walk in the morning.  Yelling at night, woke every one up.  I dare not to tell my GP or cardio that.  I just stopped it.

One day I saw another GP also a TCM practitioner.  He said he gave me this one "Ezetrol" which got no side effect.  I go home and take.  After a week, cramps start but not that serious.  I'm still taking, then the cramp go to my heart.  Like a heart attack... I stopped it.  Last second week, my foot hurts a lot and my mum told me if cholestrol too high the toes will hurt.  Then I go back... with my neck hurts.  The TCM practitioner said my neck was swollen.  I'm still taking, I tried to be a good girl.  I stopped yesterday.  My neck still hurt but I wait for a while to see.  I suspect the Cholestrol drugs too.

My Triglyceride is in normal range all the time.  Only the Chol :  6.3 mmo1/L  (3.1

Are you taking any statin drugs?  i.e. Zocor?  I had the exact same symptoms with my neck.  The doctor told me to stop Zocor for 2 weeks and the pain disappeared.  It was a severe pain from the left side of my neck and a little over to the front of my neck and then into my shoulder and bicep.  The first thing the doctor said was "stop the Zocor".  He ordered Xrays but nothing showed up.  Medication side effects will not show up on Xrays or CT scans.

Don't know what will happen next.  I've very high cholesterol even though I exercise a lot and eat very healthy, it does not come down with natural supplements I tried just about all.  Only the Zocor brought my cholesterol and especilly the LDL down.

What is your cholesterol in American numbers do you know?  Mine was 310.   Tryglicerides were o.k. LDL was very high.

The pain in the neck will last about 2-4 weeks AFTER you stop the Zocor (Simvastatin).

I now take the 20mg Zocor "every other day" (haven't seen the doctor yet, just do this on my own) Am afraid of what the cholesterol will be this time because I stopped taking the Zocor for one month.

Oh, my neck sore for a month now.  It's at the right and left (just beside the throat).  After 2 weeks, I developed a headache.  Now I'm still having that headache.  I used panadol but it doesn't work.  It takes me to sleep that all!

I tried the massage, it works for few hours... I'm a bit short of breath too.  Do you?

Actually, mine was happened after the CT chest....  The result of my CT chest is "unremarkable examination"!
