RVOT VT

I am a 23 year old male who has right ventricular outflow track VT. Besides for that my heart is perfect.  During my last ablation at the Mayo, they found the foci, but when trying to burn it, they started to cause a right bundle branch block.  The doctor said they could burn that spot, but it would be likely to cause right bundle branch block and cause the need of a pacemaker.
I am so bothered by this problem that I am willing to try anyway.

Questions are:
1.Is there any special RF ablation procedure that might improve my chance of not needing a pacemaker.
2.If a right bundle branch block does occur, and a pacemaker is installed, would I be cured of my arrythmia?

Currently I am taking 75mg of atentolol, which has caused my to become impotant.  My doctor lowered that to 50mg and added  120mg of cartia, a  calcium channel blocker.  This hasn't helped the side effects.
I'm 23 years old and sexual disfucntional from these meds.

3.Is it possible to use a drug like viagra while on these medications to treat the side effects of them?  Does viagra and these drugs interact?  It's hard to be a healthy, married 23 old male with this problem.  what do you suggest?

Thank you So Much,

Ben

The post might be a bit old but I hope VTBen is still around.  I asked this question to a cardiologist in another forum.  He answered me like this:

Q:  Why the pacemaker can't pace out of BBB?
A:   A pacemaker wouldn't pace you out of BBB, though it might make the EKG look like BBB.

I'm a 24 year old female who has been diagnosed with Right Ventricular Outflow Track Ventricular Tachycardia with about 25,000 PVC's a day. Over the past year, I tried living with this, but my episodes started becoming more frequent and more intolerable (dizzyness, extreme fatigue, palpitations, chest pain).  For the past few weeks, i have been taking a beta blocker (Sotolol) and it's been very effective.  However, i am very concerned about the long term side effects of beta blockers and am debating if i should get ablation done.  Did you choose the ablation over the beta blockers or did beta blockers not work for you?  Any advice would be great!

Thanks

1. No. There is an elevated risk of needing a pacemaker that is unavoidable in your case.
2. Yes, the arrhythmia would be very likely to be cured - probably an 80 to 90% chance of success.
3. Viagra can cause deadly reactions whn combined with medications containing nitroglycerine. It should be safe to take with beta blockers or calcium channel blockers. It is less likely to be useful as long as you are taking these other medications though. Probably best for you to have the ablation and the pacemaker, though only you can make this complicated decision.
