Severe chest pain 1½ years after Stents

Hello;

I have a co-worker and good friend who had a minor heart attack 1½ years ago. She was only 32 at the time and had stents put in 2 locations. They told her the attack wasn't related to high cholesterol or anything of the like, as her diet was very good, cholesterol was excellent and they didn't know what had caused the blockage (hereditary?).

Here she is, years later, and she still deals with extreme chest pains on a daily basis. Not just aching, but severe, mind-consuming pain. Her cardiologist has done two tests since then and says the stents are fine (they didn't close) and there are no more blocked arteries. They tell her they don't know the reason she is still still dealing with pain.

She can't afford to travel to other cardiologists. I feel terrible because nothing they've done has worked, not the medicines, nothing, and she is suffering. Is this pain common so long after stents? The pain should be better, not worse.

Any insight you could provide would be so greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time. .

hi i was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy at age 28. am now 30 but just wondering has she look at other possibilities? i went to doctor with severe chest pain to begin with 2 years ago. for about 8  months ago they came back but felt a little different. the worst pain i have ever had. in my sturnum and shoulder and breast bone, it is a bone crushing,squeezing pain that takes my breath away. i was so scared it was my heart, i thought maybe unstable angina but went to er twice and was told heart was fine and upper gi found i had a hiatal hernia and gastritis.It really felt like my heart even palpatations, so i would start looking into other things,but also be very aware of your body,only u can tell when there is something wrong so dont give up.

There are many reasons for chess pain, some are heart related and many are not.

If the pain is similar to what she suffered while her HA, chances are that it is heart related... still there are many aspects to consider: After the stent was she pain free at least for a while? Is the pain when exertion or at rest? It is often at night? Are the any other symptom? Has her thyroid been checked? Is her blood glucose level OK?

If it is exactly the same sort of pain, possible heart ischemia related causes are:
1) Another blockage (how has it been ruled out?)
2) Artery spams
3) Micro vessels blockages
4) Myocardial bridge (Should had been detected while previous stent was placed)
