I am 51 yrs of age and pretty healthy person. Was diagnosed 8 yrs ago with mvp-moderate regurgitation-mild tricuspid regurgitation. Had one episode in my family dr office with an irregular ekg and was sent to the hospital where they done the echo and from there was sent to a local hospital for the dye. All is was told was that everyone should have as good a diagnosis as me. Well u know how u get used to things and i have always had fluttering and etc. The last couple of wks it has gotten worse, wore monitor and family dr said the results was good and the only thing really showed up was frequent ventricular ectopy with only 19 isolated pvc's.  Trust me that was a good day. My question is does mvp need regular monitoring- have heard that over the yrs can get worse and people have told me most dr do regular echos just to make sure and do i need to visit a heart dr on a regular basis. The episodes get my nervous and heart rate has been as high as 128.

GREAT news!!  I feel the same way after I've seen my cardio.  It is so reassuring to be able to talk to an expert with a big heart.....lol.

Best of everything on Friday!

Good news on the medication too!  Now, enjoy the evening : )

Please be sure to stop back and fill us in.  I'll bet you will feel so much better just having the opportunity to talk with a cardiologist.  I'm betting he will schedule an echo to check up on the mitral regurgitation.  Hopefully, you are doing well and will have a great visit!  Wishing you the best!

I have MVP along with mild triscuspid regurg and have an echo done yearly along with a holter monitor because of the PVC's PAC's. Every two years I have a stress test done.

Hi blondee8257!

I also have moderate mitral regurgitation and I have an annual echocardiogram.  How often are you seen by a cardiologist?  How often do you have an echo?  I do think it is important to have serial tests to watch for any changes.
