Having stent implants should relieve angina when medication fails to dilate coronary vessels sufficiently to provide good blood flow. I have a totally blocked LAD (collateral vessels provide a natural bypass) and a partially occluded circumflex (72%) going on 8 years...I take a nitrate medication prior to going to workout 3 times a week and that prevents any angina from the circumflex. The nitrate dilates the coronary vessels and the improved blood flow prevents any angina pectoris.
There is a period of time for restnosis of an implant up to about a year with drug eluded stents. To help prevent restenosis from a blood clot, plavix medication is recommended for up to a year or more due to the vulnerabiility. Stents can be a problem due to stent collapsing, wrong size, drifting, etc. so having chest with just walking should be of major concern and a visi with your doctor. Also, there could be another blockage at a different site.
Take care,
It could be that your stents have re-blocked with scar tissue and as already stated, I would see your cardiologist. Do you have a GTN spray? if so does it remove the pain?
No it is not normal, you more then likely have developed another blockage. You need to see your cardiologist for test.
