It may help you to understand that those extra beats are 'normal' for the heart. They are a 'backup' for the heart's normal electrical beats. Everyone. the world over, has this happen. For most, they don't even notice. For some, it can become scary as you describe yourself as being, the problem is that when it scares you, your adrenal glands go into overdrive and force more adrenaline into your system so your body is ready to fight or run. The heart beats faster and harder which makes you feel worse, especially if you aren't fighting or running, but just sitting at the kitchen table. I had SVT when I was in my 20s with heart rates running around 200 beats per minute. I am now 60, no longer take medicine, don't see a cardiologist and am doing perfectly fine.......I don't worry about my heart beating wacky anymore and now I only deal with the SVT.....MAYBE..... once or twice a year. Focus your life on your young children; they grow up so fast and you never know what can happen to them.

Thankyou very much, I am 27 and have 2 boys age 5 and 2, I got palps after the birth of my 2nd, although my first experience with them was before I had my kids... Each time I let them consume me , worrying with each flutter I won't see my babies grow up

Hi, wow can i relate to ya, am 52 and started having this strange heart beats around 12, so i have had longg time they went away but came back at 23 after my last baby. for years i would stress them and it just took me down. i waited for that big heart attack and for my heart to stop , but it never came praise the LORD.  i learned to live with them and as i did they got to be less , now i have them here and there , when really stressed i get them for weeks at a time all day long it just feels like flutters all day.

they are not easy to live with but if you have had all the right test and you belive in your dr than you need to try and go on with reg life. i let them house bound me and get anxiety really bad, but i also havea great support husband that helped me get through them and i am very stronge will not to let them get me down again.   so keep going, they will not kill you and belive what your dr says and most inportant , pray to our LORD when feeling stressed and it always made me feel better.

I am turning 59 this year,  have heart disease and a few stents.  I had trouble with missed beats, clicks and tachy since my early 20s.  Nothing ever came of any of them. It was like the doctor told me. Benign.  One doctor told me something that I share with others in here....my extra, missed and clicking beats were more a nuisance than anything else.  Yes, they would flutter and take my breath away and scare me to death......but they were just that ...a nuisance. If your tests results were all okay and your doctor seems to be reassured, you should be also.  Worry  will just make matters worse. Trust me on that.  At this late age in my life I am now dealing with panic disorder.  I feel like I am going to go out like a light, but I am not. I have a hard time accepting the fact that I could have any trouble with a panic disorder. I am too mean and bull headed for that.  Take care, Ally
