Post cardiac cath pain

I had a cardiac cath 2 days ago. The next morning I removed my dressing in the shower as instructed and felt fine, slight tenderness to the site. As I was trying to put my clothes on, I lifted my right leg and I had a "popping sensation" to my right groin that took me to the ground and I blacked out. I finally made it to the phone, called triage and they sent me to the ER. The ultra sound showed no bleeding or blood clot and I was told it was proababy a muscle spasm and to come back if it got worse. I've been on ibuprofen for 2 days with ice packs to the area and can barely walk. Is this normal? I'm supposed to return to work tomorrow and don't know if I can. My heart cath was completely normal.

I'm shocked that you actually blacked out. Yes it can be sore with some people and on
my fourth angiogram it was quite painful for about a week. Walking felt like the muscle was heavily bruised but there was no bruise in sight. I believe they use a seal sometimes
when they finish the procedure which gradually disperses. Maybe this had a problem and
caused the pain. If the leg feels stiff and painful after a week, then have it checked again.
Keep checking that you have a pulse in your foot also and the colour of your feet are the
same as each other.
