one more question. i wore a holter monitor and event monitor for a month but this symptom never happened to me again so i never found out what it was. have you done an event monitor as well? maybe it will show up on there whether its normal or not
hey Anna yeah it was your post i was reffering to. It only happened to me once. it happened while i was under extreme stress and yes i got the same brush off like i'm an idiot and don't know that adrenalin and anxiety and stress can speed up and even make the heart thump. but just like you i'm not talking about a thump what happened to me is exactly what you describe actually feeling the contractions the actual pumping feeling in the heart. not to be confused with the "butterfly" feeling associated with pvcs that i also get once in a while . no this was the actual pumping feeling. Maybe its nothing but just like you i would like to know what that was about. Mine lasted like 10 seconds whatever it was. how often does it happen to you and how long does it last and under what circumstances? mine was as i said under extreme stress that evening while i was driving. and to everyone else if i am so bothersome please don't read my posts then i thought this is a discussion board to put your concerns and actually get an explanation to what may be causing symptoms and how to get rid of it. If anyone else has expierenced that sensation i would like to know if they found out what it was it was pretty scary for me. Anna one more question are you a heavy smoker as i am maybe that is the cause
Just saw your original post dated 9/20, and FLBrat responded. Hope it helped.
I would recommend reposting your concerns under you own heading. Our response had nothing to do with YOUR post, it was related to Michael's posting over and over again about various issues when he's already received a wealth of advice regarding his problems. So again, recommend starting your own post and I hope you get the answers you are looking for.
It just so happens that it is MY post he is referring to. Now I don't know his history on this board but my question/concern is an honest one and one I have never brought up before or ever asked anyone about. Also, it keeps happening to me periodically, so I was just wondering about it. I would appreciate it if someone could give me some honest feedback. I have asked a nurse once out of curiosity while I was at a doc appt for another totally unrelated reason, but she just brushed me off and said something about adrenlin. I was like, "yeah, I know how the heart works, but I don't think that I'm supposed to be FEELING the contractions, am I???"
Anyway, thanks for any input anyone can provide me with.
classic dean smith four corner... I agree tarheel.
Yeah, he's making ME anxious too! Let's all band together and not respond as I agree with Tarheel too. Sorry, Michael, but go quit smoking and focus on your job or whatever but not your health.
Please visit the anxiety forum. I think that forum will be more helpful to you.
Is this about a real problem Michael, or is it about the attention you get from your posts? You almost seem to have a desire for a problem. Was quite surprised to see this post after your last. I hope you get things sorted out, but will no longer respond as it has proven to be of no use, and I think to continue to respond to your posts of this nature only exaccerbate the problem. For those who agree with me, I recommend you follow suit. Good luck to you - I really hope you get your problems sorted out.
About 14 years ago I had pvc...I had all kinds of weird feelings in my heart...but my cardio did the tests and told me I was fine...not to worry....guess what....I believed him! And eventually all that went away. My heart issues today have nothing to do with what was going on then. And yes...one of the feelings I had was the feeling my heart actually beat...
Please stop stressing...you are making me stress. Find something else to research on the net. Study up on the mating habits of earthworms...or how many flies it takes to clean a garbage can...or something...anything but finding more things to worry about re: your heart.
Gosh...go to the quit smoking sites and start to study up on that. If you spent as much time researching how to quit smoking as you do trying to find something wrong with your heart...you probably would have quit months ago.
i'm starting to think that i'm fine but i want to be sure ya know. so have you ever felt this? or heard about this?
Michael!! How many times do you have to be told you have no heart issues????? With all the tests you have had it seriously is time to stop this....
