What do you mean exactly by "out of sync?" Are you referring to atrial fibrillation? If so, DC cardioversion is often a type of treatment that is used in order to put the heart back into it's normal rhythm (normal sinus rhythm). The success rate depends on a variety of factors that include co-existing structural heart disease (enlarged atrium, valve problems, etc) as well as the underlying etiology for the abnormal rhythm (metabolic disturbance, medications, etc). If DCCV does not work, other treatment modalities include using anti-arrhythmic drugs which can not only restore a normal rhythm, but assist in the success of achieving and maintaining normal rhythm after reattempts at DCCV.
Thank you so much for taking the time with my question. You helped me to understand a I meant out of rhythm. Hopefully it will get back to normal with a little diet and exercise.
