THANKS SO MUCH! SINCE ITS A RECENT DISCOVERY IT WORRIED ME.......
FEELING MUCH BETTER AFTER YOUR SUGGESTIONS.
There is no problem with taking a fenofibrate and a statin, it is perfectly safe, I take them both myself. There are possible side effects when taking a fibrate and a statin, you should ask you doctor to be sure.
Jon
i take tricor for my trigs they were over 600 got them down to 137 in 6 weeks i had no side affects
Fenofibrates in my experience do have side effects especially if prescribed together with Statins ( Lipitor, Crestor, Zocor are some of the brand name statins). Check drugs.com for drug side effects and interactions.
If you get your TGL's under control, your numbers should be OK in total. Much depends on your LDL an HDL levels. The quickest way for you to cut your TGLs is to stop drinking. Alcohol metabolizes as sugar and increases TGLs. Stop drinking and your number should drop. Also, cut out all empty carbs such as breads and pastas as well.
Hope this helps,
Jon
thanks a lot..does this medicene have side effects!
Before you take any other medications, you should try to quit smoking.
Fenofibrates in combination with reduced fat diet is one way of getting triglycerides down.
