katy bug

I have been diagnosed with vaso vagal.  I have fainted twice in the last 2 months.  I am 220 lbs and a light smoker.  (6-8 cigs a day - 5-6 days a week)  I am starting a job as cashier and after school ( Im 51yrs.) I will be a medical transcriptionist.  Will having this prevent me from working?  I do get that lightheaded feeling several times a day.

Thank you for responding.  Are you taking any meds to help with this condition?  Are you working?  Do you drive?  How has this interfered with your lifestyle?  Just some questions I have.. : )

Sorry about last post....until you can change your lifestyle to control vasovagal then no you can't work as a chashier....I have vasovagal as well. Drink lots and lots of water even on the job..get your doctor to write a note if you need. Also, quit smoking...that can worsen vasovagal due to the chemicals in the cigs. But I dont have an M.D....but I have had vasovagal for 3 1/2 years
