leg pain

Last night 9/8/10 I began feeling a sharp pain in left leg, in the thigh area. It lasted for about an hour and when i woke up the next morning it was gone. I am 41 and i have high blood pressure for which i am not currently taking any medication. My blood pressure has been very high lately. I have also has acid reflux for the lst several weeks.
Could this be as a result of the high blood pressure? I am going to see a doctor soon.
Please Help!!

It could be muscular or vascular.

It could be the result of a clot in a blood vessel. Not moving for a few hours can cause this. It could be deep vein thrombosis.

It is unlikely to be the result of high blood pressure.

As loong it was a one-time occurance and doesn't come back I wouldn't be worried.

Bring it to the attention of your physician during the check-up.

You need to see the doc period with or without leg pain if you suffer from high blood pressure.  You could be in a world of hurt if it goes untreated...you could suffer a stroke, plaque could build up in the arteries leading to the heart....blood pressure medicine is pretty inexpensive and if you are having financial issues the doc can give you samples to see you thru.  Sharp pain in the thighs are always suspect...simply put don't put it off see the doc....
