I believe from what my GP said, everyone gets missed beats now and again, but people with heart conditions are more 'tuned in' to their hearts and notice it a lot more. Others tend to not notice or ignore it. However she said that many people misdiagnose other symptoms as missed beats. Even Gas in the stomach suddenly shifting can sometimes feel like a missed beat.
However, if missed beats are a regular thing, then I don't think it's a major concern as long as there are adequate beats per minute remaining. Obviously if your normal hr is 70 at rest and you are missing 40 beats a minute you should be concerned. If you lose 12 beats then you still have 58 per minute left which is ok.
After my last stenting, I suffered missed beats for about 3 weeks and I found them quite horrible. It feels like your heart has stopped and then suddenly seems to speed up to make up for lost time. When this happens every few seconds it can be scary. I was lucky because mine stopped and I have to ask, how do you ever get used to it?
Also each time you get a missed beat, do you get a slight wave of light headedness rush through you?

Are missed beats s dangerous to cause much concern. I am experiencing after a heart attack two years back. The phenomenon has less impact on my daily activities. hope I am safer side of things physically.
