nadolol beta blocker

I knew better -but went with the doctors advice - tryed corgard Nadolol generic drug for h.b.p problems.  on the 4th day
of takeing at 40mg  b.p dropped to near normal levels  pulse dropped to 64 bpm and stayed when on meds.
felt awfull all the time.. very tired feeling, and couldnt do a thing -no power and when I did it was like dragging a boat behind me!  well I had tryed a few beta blockers before, and non really worked well and caused adverse side effects to happen ,the worse being low blood sugar levels,  a long term side effect from beta blockers. also ccbs cause this to !!
well iv been getting blurred vision on this stuff and also pannic attacks and nightmares, and broken sleep problems.
and now tonight got itching everywhere but no rash( yet)  and dehydrated ? eyes dryed heavy eye lids and swollen
lips and rushing and ringing in ears..  bp tested is only up a few a bit ..143/86 pulse 62 .. not normal for me as im use to 154 / 90 and pulse at 78 to 80 bpm
I sure now im allergic to beta blockers ,whatever is in them ..  due to problems iv now got.. or just cant tollerate them  as im up wide awake at 1:30 a.m tonight .. cant sleep a wink !!

doctor told me , if I had problems to cutt the pill in half to 20mg and try that - see how it works ?
as 40 could be too much to take.   so trying that today.
but I know me.. and dont think it will work out at all.

these drugs are totaly awfull to take .. and cause more harm than good..  ok they get the b.p down
but on the other hand - how can one take them ,if they have so meny problems.. or cant tollerate them ..

there is no happy end to this story!!

My doc just put me on 20 mg. of nadolol. It's been 4 weeks and I can't stand it anymore. I feel horrible and it's not helping my migranes. In fact, my headaches have gotten worse due to a recently developed eye muscle imbalance. My BP has been okay if I am not having a panic attack. How long does it take to get the drug out of your system?

Hi: thank you for the info and posting -
Im happy it came from England - as its for sure there are better doctors there.
than here in the u.s.   I will look hard into Magnesium sulphate - I already take Natural Calm powder drink has alot of Magnesium in it, works well to calm me down at times
and does help stop palpaitons.   I have so meny problems with chemical type blood pressure drugs (pills)  allergic to most if not all.  or just can not tollerate them at all.
I get very sick from them - and im finding that some of the big problems are from fillers
they use in the mfg of the meds. for now Im on a very low dose of corgard beta blocker
and I just feel awfull - so will be getting off it very soon - I will look directly into Mag sulphate asap !  as I can no longer take chemical medications.. simple as that.

also I have a friends who live in England and they tell me the Medical there isnt as bad as what the u.s goverment and media says!  same for Canada , long lines and
waiting times - so on .. and poor care . we pay here big money for healthcare and
end up paying more and getting less..  and poor care.. most doctors iv seen are idiots
young and full of themselfs.  guessing and pushing pills.. its money!!

oh well
thanks again  take care.  Ed

There's been quite a discussion on the heart rhythm forum about taking magnesium, almost all of it good. There is some question as to what type of magnesium to take and just how much. But people who take it for arrhythmias have had good success.

Good  morning Melatow, if you are referring to drugs for high blood pressure (hbp) - then I had this for a while, and heard on Radio 4  here in England, a qualified doctor talking about this, and wondering why so many drugs were prescribed when  "MAGNESIUM SULPHATE which is as cheap as chips, would do the same job" her exact quoted words.  Well I believe very much that the body isn't designed to absorb chemical drugs, and will always tell you when it dosn't want them. NATURE DOES KNOW BEST. I always have very bad reaction to any number of drugs, so decided to listen to my body which was protesting big time!!
Anyway, the choice is yours, but when I started to take mag.sul. (epsom salts) my blood pressure returned to normal.  Even when I have my palpitations it is still normal.
I also take magnesium for slight depression .   Good luck.

Cayenne pepper, huh? Works on keeping the squirrels out of bird feeders. Maybe it will keep your BP out of mischief too. Good luck hot stuff.  LOL

well hi Irene :   im about half knackered out here !   and pounded to the ground. tired
im off the meds for now..  bp is slightly up with Natural meds im taking now .. its a new type with cayanne pepper in it..  so hopefully it works good enough .. I feel alot better
but still get sorted side effects like withdrawal symptoms from the corgard meds..
yeah 24hours sounds right to me.. but one site said it takes 72hours.  40mg

the dose is 10mg-20mg 40mg  60mg  80 mg on words to a dirt nap !!
as anyone who takes more than 40mg  of this junk.. will be a zombie walking dead.

if perhapps this natural pills wont work good, will try half dose 20mg and see how I feel on lesser dose of corgard.
but I would like to keep away from it totaly and move ahead on a natural medication that wont harm me .. as chemicals do ..

I still say its from the interfearon injections I had.. since then iv had nothing but problems with meds .. and palps.   I cant take anything anymore..

and there isnt a whole lot of info on interfearon - even my oncologest said he knows little about it .. its always touch and go !

well thanks again - I tryed but just couldnt do it !!

Morning!  I typed in the name of your medication, chose RxList for the info. On page 3 it lists side effects and everything you mention is considered a normal side effect. They don't even list them as severe. Hmm. Easy for them to say.

As for how long it stays in the body, on page 6 it states the half life of the medication is 20-24 hours. That's why people can take just one pill a day. And the "steady serum" level takes 6-9 days. That's not a bad adjustment period for a heart med. I guess by the time you've taken it for 10 days, the body adjusts to it and theoretically, you should begin to feel more normal. My Diltiazem took a couple weeks for the fatigue and dizziness to pass and more than that for the headaches to ease off.

And 40 mg seems to be noted as the lowest dose. I forget how high they can go.

just a note here to anyone who knows this or can help ..
I got very tired around 4a.m -tryed to sleep - did it for about 1hour rolling around with a nightmare type dream - woke up with jitters and numb arms and rapid heart beats, that
slowed when I sat upright ,to normal ?  this happened before on beta blockers. years ago
im now wondering how long corgard nadolol lasts at 40mg  in my body.  after taking
4 days at 40mg per day - I cant find anything how long this nasty drug lasts.. as I would like it out my system and not feel the effects from it any longer.. plus be able to start
a new natural medication without worry about interactions from this junk drug iv taken
that clearly screws me up !!    I feel its worthless to keep taking something that harms
or does this to me ..

im wiped out and tired from this past night -  and sitting here im on the edge ..
b.p is slightly up a bit. from last night - pushing med 90s on the dia side.. pulse high
70s.. wtf is going here ?
