An EKG (ECG) is not a very good source to determine a heart attack. The sensitivity rating is very low for an EKG and requires further evidence such as an echocardiogram to determine if there is hypokinesis (heart wall contractility impairment) and other related signs and symptoms. A heart attack in the general meaning of the term would indicate some heart cell damage, and an echo would calculate how well the heart is pumping by determining how much blood is pumped with each heartbeat.
A nose bleed is not a sign of a heart attack! Your brother should get confirmation whether he had had a heart attack (MI) and the underlying cause diagnosed so it can be treated.
Thanks for sharing your brother's medical concern, and if you have any further questions or comments you are welcome to respond. Take care,
Ken
No, he did NOT have a heart attack because his nose was bleeding, but his nose could of bleed because of his blood pressure was up. Or many other reasons a nose can bleed.
. Since we moved back to the country near water my nose never bleeds again as used to living in dry places.
He just must fallow what his doctor said after the ECG.
Take care and just tell him fallow the heart healthy life style!
