pacemaker

I am 62 yr old female and had a pacemaker put in July 2103. It is near my armpit and when I raise my arm it seems to protrude. I can feel it right  under the surface and it is bumpy so I guess that is the leads coming out of the pacemaker. I was told it was put in sideways instead of downward. would that make a difference?? thankyou

Patients who are thinner/smaller body size have less subcutaneous tissue. This leaves less tissue to cover up the pacemaker, making it more noticeable.

But I am concerned because I have  some fat and it is covered.I know the pacemaker is flat but this it like little bumps which is I guess part of the pacemaker and when I raise my arm it protrudes and you can feel the bumps. It itches also there and also at my incision which is not red. Is this all normal??
