I passed the Cardiolite test with 5 blocked arteries, but I did not pass the stress test. They pulled me off the stress test. I also passed the one that you lay down. There must be a reason the stress test shows more. I have to have surgery in a couple of weeks, and I know it must be a worry if she is having symptoms. Let us know how she does.
I know the doctor said "exercise test" but please discuss with her cardiologist if something like an Adenoisine Cardiolite Test would be good for her. She does not have to physically exercise as the Adenoisne injection will act similar. I have this all the time and so does my hubby and sister.
I too have fear and this is very normal. God Bless her.
The short answer is yes. A simple injection is all that is necessary to get the heart to act like it is being worked hard. A funny taste in one's mouth is the only symptom. Good luck to Mom, Cindy.
Hi Cindy,
I can understand your concern. I think human nature allows us to be fearful that there could be something wrong with our health and nothing makes this come more to the forefront than a "test."
An exercise stress test is one of the best means that we have to assess prognosis and is probably the best test for someone having increased shortness of breath after a CABG. The odds of her having a heart attack during a stress test are very, very low. If she came to my clinic with similar complaints, I would order an exercise stress test.
I hope this helps. good luck!
