My father a 67 years old,no history of diabetes or b.p.or cholesterol. but a smoker.On 29/1/2010 he complained of severe chest pain.He had no other complain before that.He is now normaland fully fit to do cycling and other normal activities.Doctors in India made coronary angiogram and the report is as follows:LMCA:normal, LAD:mid segment shows 75% stenosis, Diagonals-D1 origin shows 90% stenosis LCX:non dominant-mid segment shows minor plaques, RCA:dominant-Proximal segment shows 99% stenosis.99% stenosis at the crux extending into origin of PDA and PLV LV:Good LV systolic function with LVEF-=65%,Final diagonosis:Double vessel coronary artery disease with good LV systolic function(on echocardiogram) and recommended for CABG. I want to know whether it needs to be performed immediately or there is any other alternative to CABG for this patient.He is now normal and doctors have prescribed him valsartan,atorvastatin,clopidogrel and aspirin capsules.
