The stem cell therapy field has an exciting future; however, currently there are no large randomized clinical trials which have demonstrated any clear benefit. According to the Cardiovascular Cell Therapy Research Network (CCTRN), injection of purified collections of your own stem cells (Autologous Bone Marrow Mononuclear Cells) are SAFE but INEFFECTIVE in treating patients with heart failure due to OLD heart attacks and unable to benefit from surgery or stents.
Many small trials in humans and animals are ongoing and often report exciting findings (i.e. improved heart function and exercise capacity), so look for new reports in the next few year, but remember to wait for validation in large trial before jumping on the stem cell bandwagon.
no no use, we worked on it . still lots of work has to happen. as of now stem cells injected only in terminally ill with no other option for the patient.
