swelling in one leg

I have had swelling in both legs for a couple of months now but I have noticed my left lower leg & foot is more swollen than the right. I have an underactive thyroid that my Dr. is currently trying to balance out. I know that can cause the swelling but what causes one leg to swell larger than the other? Thanks in advance~

Have you been checked for blood clots?  If one leg is a lot bigger than the other, you should ask to be check for a blood clots.  Blood clots in the legs are serious.  Our relative was told that her legs were not bad and the blood clot cause her to lose one leg and she almost lost the other, but they were just able to save it.
