swollen legs

im taking 3 heart medications  and have been for years  im developing swollen legs and ankles  is this a new side effect to my pills--- atenolol-- verapamil- simvastatin-- im 60 years old  and very active

My doctor told me that verapamil can cause the water retention/swelling.  I am being removed from that medicaton.

Leg swelling can be a sign of the heart not functioning correctly. However, it can be caused by other issues. I would have a chat with your Doctor to have some tests.

Hello-
Do you have congestive heart failure?  Something doesn't seem to working.  Are you on a low sodium diet?
