Myocardial bridging comes in a range of severity and it depends on how much tissue is covering the artery and the density of it. There are a few options which Cardiologists consider depending on the severity. In some patients, medication such as beta blockers are sufficient, such as metoprolol. Some patients who do not respond well to the medication have a stent inserted to try and strengthen the artery against compression but this obviously depends on the density of heart tissue covering the artery. There is also a surgical option where the tissue covering the artery is cut, freeing the artery from its effects.
