update on shortness of breath

the dr's did another cardio test and went further and found another blockage , they said they were very sorry they did not go further last time and that they were surprised i had not had a major heart attack, did bypass surgery in dec 2011. Now i have heart palpatations and still smoe shortness of breath and dizziness. I did 1 follow up after surgery and then the cardiac dr's said I didn't need to come back.

This discussion is related to run out of air with anything I do.

What do you mean you don't have to go back?  That part is confusing. You have heart disease. You will need to monitor this over time I woud think.

no we are dealing with the v.a , they said at his 6 weeks follow up that he didn't need to come back.

I'm not sure, but I think once the heart is damaged this shows up on the EKGs.  My doctor said he would be able to see anything new though.

As far as I understand, if you only suffered an angina then nothing will show up in the EKG, if you suffered a heart attack that means that a part of your heart muscle has died, and depending how much it will show more or less abnormalities in the EKG and those will be permanent.

Anyway, after a bypass you are a cardiac patient for the rest of your life, you will need medication and periodic controls. What do you mean by "v.a."

the veterans dr's. and he is on meds. now they say he has arterial fib. they said from surgery. so far all the ekg's they have done all say abnormal and something about coranary artery disease. when the veterans does a angiogram they only go till they find a blockage, that is how they missed his severe blockage, it took a year of going downhill and living on nitro and a phone call to the senator for them to even send him back to the cardiac dr's , then another angiogram and they went until they found a major blockage and immediately did bypass , then follow up , and we don't need to see you again.
