ventricular fib??

Ventricular fib?
i was recently in hospital due to a collapse which resluted in me being shocked twice.i seem to collapse quite a bit but this first time i did not wake up.they have called my previous collapses possible ventricular tachycardias?
Im 19 and have no cardiac problems, normal heart etc.
i have uploaded my ECG in my pictures on my profile
i think in my ecg i can see R waves?but maybe im wrong??because if there are R waves maybe i was not in cardiac arrest?? any help is much appreciated i am very worried

It did happen suddenly yes i was at the mall, luckily this mall had a defib. I have had all the tests and i have a normal heart overall except obviously this, my cardiologist at the hospital tho, just put an implantable reveal device in i thought best would have been an ICD? because what use will the reveal be if i was to not wake up or no one had a defib to help me?He sais because i pass out alot that hes hoping to catch it first..... :S
Silly new zealand public hospital system!!

It does seem unusual that they did not place a defibrilator, thank goodness AED's (those automated devices that they used on you at the mall) are more readily available now.  There is a heart disease expert forum on Med Help that is answered by renowned cardiologists from the Cleveland Clinic-  they will be able to give you a better answer as to why they would place a recorder device over a defibrilator or if you should pursue this with another cardiologist.  You could try posting there.  In the meantime, I will see if I can get your question posted on their forum as sometimes there is a wait.

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

It certainly looks like V-fib to me.  You can have V-tach and still have a pulse (which may be what happened to you previously).  What was the circumstance behind this episode (did this just happen suddenly without any cause)?  IF you have not followed up with a cardiologist, you certainly should.  V-fib is a deadly rhythm and people who go into V-fib without cause usually have an internal defibrilator placed.  This definitely qualifies as a cardiac problem and needs to be evaluated by a specialist if you have not done so as soon as possible.  Good luck.
