If the dentist is stubborn about it, all that needs to happen is a phone call, cardiology is trained to manage these situations and can make a plan that works for the parties involved.
Do not stop taking Plavix (Clopidogrel) without consulting the doctor who prescribed it!
Plavix inhibits platelet bloodclotting function, to prevent (life-threatening) blood clots (in i.e. cardiovascular stents).
Often dental work can be done without stopping Plavix. Consult your dentist for that.
When you stop taking Plavix, complete recovery of platelet function takes about 7 days after the last dose.
