High pulse rate, 18 years old female

Hi, my 18 years old daughter have high pulse rate (100) everyday. Even when she is asleep, her pulse is somewhere from 85 to 95.she gets out of breath very quickly. When she walks to school or climbs up the stairs, she is out of breath. She describes the feelings as her heart will pop out sometimes. She is fit.. She did and still been having iron deficiency. Is that the cause? She had iron deficiency for years but never took iron supplement until last week. I'm very worried.

I have had this happen. I was recently diagnosed with POTS. Postural Tachycardia Syndrome. Look into it. Hope she is better.

Hello, welcome to the forum.  Well, that is on the higher side but still in normal.  I would not worry about it at this point but talk to her doctor about it at her next well health physical.  If it goes higher than 100 and stays there regularly, that is called tachycardia and should be addressed right away by her doctor.  https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/175241  This would indicate that for some reason, her heart is working too hard.  Things that make heart rate faster are smoking, alcohol, dehydration which are all in our control. And then other things like hyper tension (she's young for that), congenital heart issues, thyroid issues, more medically related situations like that.  So, while her heart rate is high, the cut off for abnormal is 100.  It's important to work on the iron deficiency as that in itself can make the heart work harder to carry oxygen throughout the body.  So, she should consider the right dosage of supplement for that.   Let us know how she is doing.
