Ato-bisoprolol is ending. Can it be replaced with Metoprolol 50 mg?

My son is abroad. He takes Atenolol 25 mg and Ato-bisaprolol 5mg. Ato-bisoprolol is ending because there were not 90 pills but 60. The pharmasist did not warn about that. Can he start taking Metoprolol 50 mg instead?

Hi there. The doctor back home should be contacted. He could E Mail or even Fax a copy of a new script to a pharmacy in the new town or city that your son is in.

Thats the best solution. Substituting meds is not really recommended, unless under the guidance of a medical expert.

Thanks. If this was possible, I would not raise this question.
