Arrhythmia after sex

Hi everyone I have a question of concern. I am a 40 yr old female with severe MVP (mitral valve prolapse) and I'm very susceptible to irregular heartbeats(in past- ventricular bigeminy's etc.). I've developed a  lifestyle that keeps things under control - currently use no meds but eat loads of fish/ ginger  have no caffeine/alcohol  which seem to trigger bad episodes with me.  My problem is that a short time AFTER sex  with my current partner I am experiencing a pronounced irregular heartbeat.  The irregular heartbeat does not occur during sex and does not occur unless vaginal ejaculation takes place. Seems like an inflammatory effect?? .  Interestingly, it was the OPPOSITE with my former partner of six years - vaginal ejaculation actually stopped irregular heartbeats. My current partner consumes a lot of caffeine (5-6 cups @ day) plus Red Bull drink which is high in caffeine. He also consumes a lot of Carnitine and Creatine(amino acids for muscle building) and I'm wondering if caffeine could possibly be present in ejaculate or what else could possibly be causing this problem?  Any information, ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Barbarella, thanks so  much for your reply. I did as you suggested and the following website stated that caffeine may be secreted in saliva, semen and breast milk- Erowid Caffeine Vault - Effects. Maybe this explains the arrthymia after sex - I hope so, as it has never occured  with another I don't know what else could be causing it. As we know, irregular heartbeats can be really frightening and as much as we crave the affection and closeness of sex this has really made me scared. My partner is very caring but doubtful and probably unconvinced.  As he has excellent health  he doesn't appreciate the gravity of the situation. He really enjoys, is probably addicted to coffee and whether with his lifestyle he'll be able to significantly cut back ..I just don't know. It's a big ask to request a partner to modify their diet but what else can I do?/ Any ideas gratefully received.

I never heard of it, but why don't you type your question in the "search" box at Google you might will get some results.

I never heard of caffeine getting into the semen and then in the sex partner's system, but I could be wrong that is why I say research it on Google.

Good luck to you!  If no results on Google I'd ask a doctor if he has an idea.
