What could be causing skipped beats?

I have svt (tachycardia).  I've had it most of my life but was actually diagnosed and medicated in mid 20s. I am on a beta blocker and it had been well controlled for years now. Starting last week I began to have skipped beats. It's happening multiple times and day for up to hours at a time. I'm not getting symptoms such as dizziness, but it's annoying. I'm taking magnesium,  calcium, and potassium supplements. When I check my pulse I can feel the "skip" but my pulse rate is normal in the 80s. I know I need to but I hate to bring it up to my primary because he wants to send me to a cardiologist who probably won't do anything but waste my time and money. What else can I do?

First get checked for a piece of mind about PVC's
I know we all want to get out of the doctors office as quickly as possible but stay in there until you get all the answers. It is most likely anxiety and or stress=more PVC's =more anxiety and on and on.
I made the mistake of walking out of the doctors office without even knowing that what I was feeling were in fact stress induced PVC's, because they disappeared when i was being examined, as the doctor was checking my pulse I had a single one PVC. Asked him if he felt that he said no. At the time (2007) i didn't even have a name for them (found out they were called PVC few years back I think 2010).Of i went home happy just to get more PVC,s over time developed anxiety over them and now I have learned to live with them (done all the heart works all the tests everything is o k with the heart), trying to keep from getting anxious about them.Less anxiety less PVC= better quality of life. So do not stress do not be anxious about them, you are in control of them and they do get better.
I have weeks without them but the slightest stressful situation brings them on.I just learned to live with them.
Doctors can't do anything about them to guaranty you full 100% cure. You can do something about them DON'T STRESS.

I think you should go to the cardiologist. Preferably an EP cardiologist who just deals with arrhythmia.  Things change over time.  It sounds like PVC's. I have those, and the pulse is lower than the heart rate.  My pulse will sometimes be 28-45, because of the bigeminy.

Hello~I have those as well, they are no fun. Stress can bring them on, and sometimes, they just happen for no reason. I know you don't want to see your doctor, but, it would give you peace of mind to find out that they are not serious, he/she would probably have you wear a holter monitor, this will show exactly what the heart is doing for 24 hours. Most everyone has them, some just don't notice them.

Yes I would say extra stress lately, but I don't know how to fix that. I work a full time job with a lot of overtime (unpaid), my job is about to change,  and of course the usual home and child streshe's, plus some other things.
