Chest pain

I saw a doctor yesterday for chest pain, which I have had all week.  The EKG showed anteroseptal infarction-age undetermined.  I have been searching for a definition for this term but have yet to find it.  I will see a cardiologist next week and have a stress test soon.  In the meantime, I would like to know the definition of this term.

This is very stressful for me.  I am 49 years old, and have never had any heart symptoms until now.

I believe that anteroseptal infarcts are areas of heart damage that occur in the internal walls of the heart which separate adjacent heart chambers.

I did a search on "EKG anteroseptal" and found more than I wanted to read.

I think the key point here is there was something found that the cardiologist can address.  It seems to me the EKG didn't show any signs of immediate danger, so try to think positive and be calm, that's the best thing you can do for your heart.
