Coughing affect heart?

I have come down with a very bad cold/cough that my hubbie has had for 2 weeks.  The coughing is very hard and harsh..... will that trigger a bout of A-fib possibly?  I am currently doing well on tikosyn, but am concerned about being so sick impacting my heart function.

Thanx,Jerry..... my hubbie is wanting me to go to ER or urgent care as he is worried about my coughing impacting my heart and starting up the a-fib... he is a tad over protective!!  However, I can be too laid back about things and just "wait" and see what's happening.  He coughed for 2 weeks and was pretty sick; however, has no heart probs.  so thanx for your comments....I read them to him.

I think any physical strain can add to the stimulus for all arrhythmia, so my guess is "yes", but, I don't believe coughing will cause any permanent change in your condition.
