Why does my heart race upon waking up in the morning?

I am a 38 year old male. I wake up with my heart racing almost every morning. I use a CPAP machine. I recently lost almost 70 pounds, have been exercising, but still wake up like this. I have been to my doctor and done tests and everything is fine. Just want answers. I do smoke.

What do you mean?  You're probably experiencing generalized anxiety-induced sinus tachycardia or just an elevated sinus rate.  This is probably not the category for you.

When I had generalized anxiety and panic disorder, I would have very high heart rates in the morning in anticipation of the day.  I knew I had to do stuff like go to work and it would make my heart race 80-100 bpm.
