Frequent Heart Fluttering

Hello all,
I've been experiencing frequent heart fluttering throughout the day.  Probably a dozen or more times per day.  They lasts for about a second, then goes away.  It doesn't hurt but there is a light throbbing discomfort in my chest from time to time.  I definately can feel the flutter, it's very pronounced.  I've been diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse & Thalassemia minor about 15 years ago & I'm 40 years old now.  I've experienced fluttering before, but they were few & far between.  It's very concerning that they are now happening so frequently.  I had a full blood test done last week & my Glucose level is 101, so I'm not yet sure if I'm diabetic & don't even know if that has anything to do with my fluttering issue.  I also feel fatigued & have tingling sensations throughout the day in my hands & feet for the past month.  Sometimes after straining or overexerting myself, I would see little grey specks dancing around in my field of vision & with a few deep breaths they would go away.  I feel light headed & get dizzy spells once in a while.  If anyone can shed some light on what may be happening, please advise.  I have a doctors appt next week & would like to be more informed of these symptoms before discussing this with him.  Thanks in advance & god bless.

Hi.  I don't know if I can help or not concerning your appointment but I would maybe want to check into a few things to ask about.

What is your BP normally?     This has made me see (I call them my spirits LOL) shadows and specks when high and lightheaded too sometimes.  When low it has made me lightheaded.
You could keep track of this on your own at home this week and let your doctor know your results.  It might help if you write it down and show them.  Bring up all heart questions too.

Did you have your iron level and thyroid checked?  What are the levels?     This is new to me but, I found out that it can cause you to be very tired (in my case - Hypo) if you have thyroid issues or low iron.  I think the tingling could be hyper.  Both can also cause you to be aware of your heartbeat so I'm told.
As far as Thalassemia- I think this can cause anemia.

Your Glucose level I believe is borderline normal.  You might want to ask about a fasting bld. test to see how your body tolerates sugar.

Just some thoughts to ask about.  Don't know if this helps or not.  I hope someone can answer you better than I.  Take care and best wishes finding out what is wrong.
