Heart palpitations and heat in throat

Hi, I really need some help and quick responses to my question. I developed a very bad kidney infection a couple months ago. Went to my doctor who prescribed cepro- floxalin (an antibiotic-not sure of correct spelling). which was of no help to me, during the time I was taking I developed heart palpitation. I decided to check another Doc who did a blood test, he said this was to determine the correct antibiotics to treat infection. After two weeks the results came back, and I was treated with new antibiotics. I complained to my Doc that my heart was racing severely, he gave me Atenolol ( to quiet the heart rate) and Apo Lorazapam( as he thought I was anxious) to take together with the antibiotics. I purchased the medication by the pharmacy and pharmacist wrote the wrong direction on prescription for apo lorazapam. I slept well for days and nights. i was overdosed but did not know. My spouse decided to call the doctor to inform him that since i've been taking new meds i have constantly been sleeping. My doc explains that i am only to take med in the night before going to bed. I stopped meds immediately. I felt dizzy, my heart raced severely, i felt very weak and tired, i could not sleep and there is this heat coming from my throat and underneath my feet. My sleeping pattern regulated but the heart palpitation continues together with the burning heat underneath my feet and throat. I did EKG, stress test, echo, holter monitor and all came out fine. For burning/ heat in my throat doc prescribed an antitacid medication which did not help. My doc thinks it is GERD/acid reflux but i do not believe so as the heat radiates from under my feet and the palm of my hands. I have been experiencing this since Feb of this year and have been going to doc since and i am not getting anywhere with them. I tried several times to explain to them how this all started but it is like "get to the point , just explain what you are experiencing now, you sound crazy keep explaining all this stuff about being overdosed". All i need is for my doc to understand that these were complaints that started subsequent to taking meds. Can anyone shed some light on this as the heart racing intensify with the burning/heat in throat. I must also mention that prior to my infection, I have had surgery to rectify UPJ obstruction.

Thanks for your response jerry. In terms of how many beats per minute- I'm sorry I'm unable to say as my doctors would just say that EKG are normal. I have stopped taking Atenolol. The blood test in question was done and everything was normal.
Just an update- To this day I am unwell. I went to a neurologist who recommended to redo CT scan, but nothing showed up. Recently I observed a very deep line to the left side of my mouth coming down from the flare of my nostril. The right side does not have it. IT seems like my mouth is beginning to turn on a side. Looks like a mild form of Bells palsy. I still have this terrible burning under my feet and inside my mouth. Most of the times I am depressed and fatigued. I urinate quite frequently, most times as soon as I finish drinking fluids, I have to run to the bathroom. Literally run. I am experiencing also pain to the left side of my forehead. I did a considerable amount of research and really questioned what transpired prior to my illness when I came to the realization that I might be mercury poisoned. Prior to developing the bad kidney infection, I had my amalgam fillings removed and replaced with white composite fillings. This was conducted by a conventional dentist who did not care about using protective measures. So really what sparked my illness is being exposed to mercury. All my symptoms points to the fact that I have been mercury poisoned. I live in the Caribbean and Doctors here do not believe nor are they trained to deal with cases like mine. I did some detox and too a couple of vitamins and minerals which helped. But I think I do have fibromyalgia which is a symptom also of heavy toxicity. Some of the symptoms I'm experiencing which which led me to believe I have fibromyalgia- Weakness. Depression, ringing in right ear, pain at back of left eye, migraine, foggy brain, poor concentration span, loss of intellect, slurred speech, unable to focus and retain information,  heart palp, burning in mouth, and under feet, weakness and pain in joints especially in right knee, and left elbow, a constant feeling as if my nerves are hypo active ( like a generator is working in my brain and body), whenever I walk I have this tendency to fall, feel very unstable. I have not been treated for mercury poisoned by a doctor, and felt there are certain things I need to do in order to get completely well. I am appealing to anyone out there who had been mercury poisoned or who are ill with fibromyalgia to offer some advise and assistance. I have a story to tell the world about my struggles.

Can you give us some numbers?  How many beats per minute is your heart "racing"?  As the Atenolol helping, are you still taking it?

You've had about all the none-invasive heart tests I can think of.  Did your doctor(s) do a full blood test, the type done for a annual physical, not one specifically looking for an infection.   You may have some deficiencies in minerals necessary for healthy heart operation.

It is very hard for us out here in "web-land" to second guess what your doctors have said, that may be why you haven't gotten any other replies.

This replay bumps your post to the top of the list, maybe someone with better ideas will replay.

Wishing you an quick solution,
