Heartbeat in back

I have been feeling a heartbeat in my back.  I have no pain but when I sit or lay down, I feel it in my back. I did go to the doctor and had an echocardiogram.  But the doctor was unsure of diagnosis.

When I had similar symptoms I found out my pacer had expired.  It had been 12 years with that one.

When you say unsure of diagnosis, do you mean that he was not concerned and just said, "I don't know why you feel that, but your tests show that you are fine and I'm not worried" or do you mean that he thought, "that's not normal.  We are going to have to run further testing to figure this out."
