Heartcheck PEN

Just saw an advertisement for a new device called the Heartcheck PEN.  It's $189 and when you feel palpitations you can immediately record an EKG with it.  You can also download software so that for a fee you can forward your EKG to a physician, a monitoring center or both, and have it read and sent back to you.  The website is theheartcheck.com. If this is as advertised it would be great for all the things that don't seem to happen while wearing a holter monitor.

I just ordered a PEN and it's actually really easy to use. The thing I like about the product is that the company has been in business for a while so there are very few glitches in the software and everything works well. AliveCor seems interesting but I hear they're having a hard time getting it cleared by the FDA/HC and I wouldn't trust their software to be nearly as good. Just my 2 cents...

this is very similiar to Alive Cor's Iphone4 system that is currently waiting approval...www.alivecor.com it's what I'm waiting on but if it doesn't come out soon this looks promising also

I have ordered one.  The first EKG is sent to the company and will be read for free.  After that they will send a code to unlock the software so that you can see your own EKGs of pay to either have a technicial or a Doctor read your EKG.

You can download to your computer only.  You don't have to forward it to the doctor.

Do you know if it can be downloaded to your own computer to look at? Or is it just downloaded to the company to be forwarded to the doctor? I'm sure many people who are familiar with their arrhythmias would like to get a look at  the recording  before contacting their doctor.
