hotgrandma, 20,000 pvc is definitely too many. Some top EPs are starting to think that 10,000 is too many and recommend ablation if symptomatic. 64 ablation lesions sounds like a lot but it is actually not especially if your EP was creating lesion lines (a series of connected dots) to stop the circuits or if he was ablating scarred substrate. It will take a few weeks for your heart to settle down and see if the ablation succeeded. When you researched San Diego centers, what centers do you think were the best? Thanks and best wishes for a well done procedure.
So the ablation was not successful? 20,000 PVCS is a lot and you are at more risk of developing cardiomyopathy. Which is reversible with successful ablation. But if you're heart is structurally sound and then even at that level you'll be okay. They'll probably just want to monitor your heart to make sure the PVCs don't weaken.
