Long QT, SVTand Major Depression

I posted a question back in August about medication available for major depression whilst having SVT's and Long QT. I thought I would update everyone that replied, on my outcome. My Cardiologist and 3 Drs at the hospital did extensive research and were unable to find any suitable medication for me, to assist in the treatment of my depression - I have since had 3 seperate admissions to the psych unit at the hospital - apparently I have Borderline Personality Disorder (which I was diagnosed with 15 years ago and I have been told it is like alcoholism  - it is always there) alongside the depression and am suffering through grief at the passing away recently of my mother. It would appear that I have to get through this illness with therapy and hospital admissions when I become acutely suicidal. I would like to thank everyone for their helpful advice

Thank you for your suggestion - I checked out the Serzone when you first suggested it as a possible medication but it was banned here in Australia - I have since checked it out again and it is still on the banned list. I appreciate your help but it would appear that I am travelling on a long road and the journey will take more time to complete than I had hoped Regards Ma1902

Thanks for the update ma1902.

I think I suggested looking into Nefazodone (Serzone), did your doctors look into it?

Serzone was pulled from the market briefly due to a study on its liver side effects.  However it was re-introduced under its generic called Nefazodone and is sold in the US again.

I don't think Serzone has any heart side effects.  Given your situation, it might be worth a try even with the risk of the liver issues.  The liver issues can always be monitored.
