My Chest Pain/Heart....

Hello im new in her My name is Roosevelt and I have what’s called Pericardidis, I have been feeling weak for a few months, low energy and this stabbing pain in my chest and under my ribcage (where my heart is) has been bothering me. It's weird because the pain travels from one side of my chest to the other. Every year this flares up and I have to pay a ridiculous co-pay to be seen by a Doc, and every year they say there’s nothing they can do but give me ibuprofen. So I decided to try to live with the pain because I cant afford to keep going in to Docs. As of late I had family pass away from heart and kidney issues, my dad is on dialysis and had two heart attacks and a few strokes. That runs in my family. One day while driving I grabbed my cell phone and I felt like a "zing" shoot down my arm into my hand and it became difficult to use my fingers to grasp things. After messaging my hands for a while I could hold things normal. The same thing happened to my other side. I checked online about heart attack warning signs and I didn’t find what happened to me listed on them. Should I be nervous? What could this be?
I’m 34 with two beautiful girls and a wife...well I AM kind of nervous. I’m hoping for some direction before telling my wife what’s been happening. Don’t want to cause more stress than there already is. Sorry for writing so much!

Thank You

-Roosevelt

Thank you for your comment, My grandmother passed away 2 years ago from heart issue's AND she had Lupus.
I don't know what Lupus is but it doesnt sound good. I remembering her energy leaving and everything going down hill from there, the next year she passed away.
Im a little afraid right now. I will look up what rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, and thyroid's are to see some of the symtems.

The last time I was in to see the Doc I asked him what causes it, every year they say it's hereditary and there's nothing you can do about pericarditis. He never said there could be causes like you explained! Just something thats hereditary.

Thank You So Much for the Info. I REALY NEED IT!!

I'll Check back in
Thanks Again!!

Have they determined what's triggering your pericarditis? There are several things that could do it: a virus, bacterial infection, connective tissue diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, etc. or a thyroid problem. Finding the cause would be helpful.

NSAIDs seem to be pretty standard to deal with the pain and inflammation of the problem. It would just be great if they could explain what triggers it each year.
