I see theres a fee to post questions for Doctors now...
Anyway... I saw someone post a reply in the Heart Rhythem section - Doctors forum, regarding that they were cured by resolving the Acid Reflux issue. I would like to know if others have found this to be the case. But, I figure most individuals that get rid of their ectopic beats probably don't browse this forum much anymore and those that do, have not found a fix for their ailment(s).
I find that mine are more frequent in times of anxiety, but there are not many instances that always seem to cause them. Sometimes when I eat, occaisionally when I get up from sitting a long time at the computer, peak of sexual arrousal and there are times when simply bending, twisting and crouching will cause it. I found that if I'm doing something physical, its more likely to happen when I twist, bend, crouch. And definately if I'm out in the heat and/or my body feels hot/inflammed. Sometimes, I'm not doing anything but sitting and watching tv and it will happen.
I know in theory we all get some, but I'm referring to the ones you can't ignore or mistake for something else. I also tend to feel the jump in my stomache - to the left, under the rib cage. And many times it's followed by a release of gas from one end or the other.
At times I've had brief bigeminy (every other beat).
So, I'm wondering if it could be reflux and its when it hits my esophegus that it happens. Obviously, when we are anxious/stressed we are more likely to have reflux.
I've also heard of people saying that when they were on antibiotics (for other ailments) it seemed to help reduce/eliminate the pvc's and I've experienced this as well.
I haven't really tried ant-acids or anything, because I'm very anti-meds since I've felt these things.
My PVC's became noticeable, after having panic attacks last year. They have subsided, but the pvc's have not.
Within the past year, I'v had a normal echo, thallium stress test and my halter showed the pvc's.
Please share your thoughts and expriences. I would really appreciate comments, especially regarding the gastro-intestenal and reflux scenario.
I'm going to speak to a speciallist soon and would like to know from those of you who may have already went down that road.
Thanks!
