PVC's are now definitively known for causing cardiomyopathy.  My E.P. said that new studies have shown >4000 PVC's in a 24 hours period puts you at risk for cardiomyopathy over the long run.  However, the good news is that most of the time if you have PVC's in a location that is known to cause cardiomyopathy it can be ablated with a catheter ablation.  After the ablation the cardiomyopathy reverses and your heart returns to normal.  I know this all as fact as my Doctor is the head of Cardiology at the Wake Forest Baptist School of Medicine and told me this straight from his mouth.

I wasn't aware that it did.....i know that cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle or a weakening of it and PVC's are simply premi contractions.  I suppose over an extended period of time it could happen but unless i am wrong i didn't think the two ran hand in hand.  One is basically no great shakes and the other can be extremely serious.  Are you having issues no_fate?
