PVC's Heart Rate

I am a 42 yr old male and overweight.

I notice more recently if I have indigestion and last thing at night especially when lying down My PVC's are worse.

After the runs of them my pulse stays at 100-120 for anything from half an hour to a couple of hours.
Some of the pvc's feel really strong and seem to get an adrenaline reaction .

I also get occasional "flutters" where my heart seems to speed up for a few seconds and then go back to normal almost immediately.
I also still have occasions normally social but occasionally for no good reason when my pulse will go over 100 but never really more than 125 bpm for up to a couple of hours then slow back down again.

I suffer from daily bouts of lightheadedness i have had this for years and get it even when i don't get the pvc's.

On my last trip to ER they suggested a 24hr monitor just for reasurrance, but my GP is still insisting my symptoms are all due to Generalised Anxiety and that I didn't need it as all my other tests have come back normal
My last stress test and was 5 years ago although my last 24hr tape was 2 years ago and last chest xray and ecg 6 months ago.
I had a heart CT at a recent physical which showed 0 plaque or any problems in the arteries and low chance of heart disease.
1) I sometimes get 5 0r 6 pvc's in a minute and can get up to 10,000 per day.In a bad day.
Is this dangerous or should I try to ignore it.
Also can PVC's be linked to indegestion or the vagus nerve??

2)What are these flutters and the short runs of fast heartbeats that I get??
Are they dangerous?? Should I be concerned.

3) Is it possible that all of these symptoms really are just Generalised Anxiety or should I be pushing to see a Cardiologist or change my GP??

4) Can worrying about these symptoms cause them to get worse.

5) What is my risk of major heart isues?

Thank You

Most PVCs are not dangerous.  Is up to you and your doctor to determine if they are dangerous.  If you have a normal EKG, normal echo and sometimes a stress test, PVCs are not dangerous but often cause people concern.

Some people comment about increased PVCs after meals.  There is not a lot written or studied about this.  It may have to do with the vagus nerve, but there is no definitive evidence of that.

2)What are these flutters and the short runs of fast heartbeats that I get??
Are they dangerous?? Should I be concerned.

You need a hear monitor to answer that questions.

3) Is it possible that all of these symptoms really are just Generalised Anxiety or should I be pushing to see a Cardiologist or change my GP??

It is possible that the anxiety disorder makes they symptoms worse but it is unlikely that anxiety causes the pvc's.

4) Can worrying about these symptoms cause them to get worse.

Worrying cause symptoms to get worse.  When people are worried, the mind can play  tricks on them.  Sensations that they would otherwise or ignore or little bumps they have on their whole life can start to cause persistent worries.

5) What is my risk of major heart isues?

It depends on family history, EKG, heart function, and what the symptoms are.  This is best answered in a face to face visit with a cardiologist.

If you doctor won't refer  you to a cardiologist and you think it will help you to feel better with the reassurance from a cardiologist, schedule the visit yourself.  The best way to help ease anxiety is to directly answer the questions that you are worried about.

I hope this helps.

I posted some time ago with regard to PVC,s and heart rate and in recent months have had some additional symptoms.I am a 42 yr old male and overweight.

I still have daily pvcs these can be from a few to thousands per day.
I notice them more if I have indigestion and last thing at night especially when lying down.
I very occasionally get runs of these back to back (normally when excited or in confrontational situations)and on a few occasions have ended up in ER.
After the runs of them my pulse stays at 100-120 for anything from half an hour to a couple of hours, but i have not had as many runs recently although I seem to be in the middle of a lot of pvc's just now.
Some of the pvc's feel really strong and seem to get an adrenaline reaction .

I also get occasional "flutters" where my heart seems to speed up for a few seconds and then go back to normal almost immediately.
Also I occassionally get just a rapid pulse for a few seconds which returns to normal quickly too.
Most recent my pulse was approx 140bpm for 10 seconds or so.
I also still have occasions normally social but occasionally for no good reason when my pulse will go over 100 but never really more than 125 bpm for up to a couple of hours then slow back down again.

I suffer from daily bouts of lightheadedness i have had this for years and get it even when i don't get the pvc's.

On my last trip to ER they suggested a 24hr monitor just for reasurrance, but my GP is still insisting my symptoms are all due to Generalised Anxiety and that I didn't need it as all my other tests have come back normal and showed pvc's (ectopic beats only)

I had a heart CT at a recent physical which showed 0 plaque or any problems in the arteries and low chance of heart disease.

My main questions are.

1) I sometimes get 5 0r 6 pvc's in a minute and can get up to 10,000 per day.In a bad day.
Is this dangerous or should I try to ignore it.
Also can PVC's be linked to indegestion or the vagus nerve??

4) Can worrying about these symptoms cause them to get worse.

5) What is my risk of major heart isues?
