PVC's after ablation surgery

I just started having PVC's 2 weeks after my Ablation for SVT.  They have increased over the past 24hrs, and I am going crazy. My Doctor said that this is completely normal, but I feel so uncomfortable and annoyed.. How long do the PVC's typically last after surgery?

Thank you all for the posts - very helpful! I had RF ablation for frequent PVC and controlled (by beta-blockers) SVT three weeks ago, plenty of PVC's (about 6000/24h) with changing pattern. Now have some sustained bigeminias - something I did not have before, and PVC attacks ( before they were spread over the day/night). Done it in UK, seemed by a very good good EP, shall wait more according to you guys posts. I wonder whether these PVC's gone for you now?

Hi there,

I am just over 2 weeks past my ablation and I am going through the same thing.  I went into crazy pvc's last night, I hardly had any prior to that.  Not sure what happens at that 2 week mark, but it's crazy.  I was very upset and a little discouraged, but seeing that other people have gone through the same thing and lived :) is very encouraging!  I hope we all heal quickly and have great, pvc free days ahead!  All the best.

Hi Jan,

I am glad I read this post!  I was fine for the first two weeks, and then last night, I had a huge PVC attack, scared the heck out of me.  It scared me because my first two weeks were pretty good, the odd pvc, but nothing like that, so I couldn't figure out why it was so bad last night.  I was worried something had gone wrong...I tell you, I am going to drive myself crazy during this post ablation period.  It wouldn't be so bad if I knew more what to expect.  It sounds like you went through the same thing, so I am hopeful, thanks for sharing!

Hi I am almost 5 weeks post ablation and am just started my 4th day WITHOUT any PVC's.
I had them constantly after the ablation but gradually they started getting later and later in the day and now nothing, I am wondering is this the calm before the storm. I live in hope it was a success.
What you are feeling is normal. My cardio said for the first week or two after the ablation the body goes into some kind of infection shock mode and as that wears off then you will get some kind of PVC's. Mine were bearable the first week or so but after that the got crazy, ending up with a big attack, which luckily didn't end up as full SVT.

Bear with it a little longer, our heart needs to heal and that does take some time. I don't understand how the docs say you will be up and about in no time and back to your old self. It took me almost 5 weeks to get up!!!!!
Now I have done more this week than the last 7 months combined as I have new energy and also those darn paps are gone for now.
