PVCs?

How many of you out there have started with a few PVCs and have found you have waves of more?  I mean how many will have 5 a day for months then BAM get hit with thousands a day for weeks then back to only a few?  How many of you out there know people who only ever have a few a day and NEVER ended up having thousands a day?

Just getting a feel for things :)

The fact that it starts all of a sudden is an indication of an accessory pathway svt.  The good news is your heart is strong and should tolerate the episodes well.  So just keep a journal and keep going back to the doctor until you get this diagnosed proper.  Note dates when you have episodes, what you were doing when they started, what you felt, any symptoms, and how long they last.  This is really good information for the doctor to work with.  I might also suggest trying some antacids if you notice a higher amount of pvcs after you eat.  It really will help those calm down.  Take care.  : )

When my pvcs were going off pretty bad I had some significant sinus tachycardia.  Does your svt seem like it starts all of a sudden or is it a gradual rise and fall of the rate?  My avnrt would go off at rates over 200 so it is probably not likely you have that kind but if you feel that your svt can be triggered for no apparent reason which is a clear indication it isn't stress driven then keep pursuing a diagnosis.  Even if it turns out it is simple sinus tachycardia driven by anxiety if you do not feel you and your doctor are a team I advise finding a new doctor.  My cardiologist basically told me I have to live with the pvcs but he did it in a very compassionate way.  Everyone deserves to be treated with compassion.  But rest assured, even though it doesn't feel like it, everything you are experiencing is not anything that will harm you in the long term.  Not necessarily the most comforting news when you feel like crap but just coming to terms with the fact that your heart is pretty strong and can handle a lot can help relieve us of the anxiety we hold onto about the condition and relieving that anxiety can have a very positive impact on how we feel.  Take care.

How often do I get the episodes..well, I usually would get them at least once a month or twice..Now the past few weeks it seems I would have one evry couple days..I dont know if its cuz Im so obsessed about it now that its happening more..I dont know. Its weird, sometimes I will feel like my heart is pounding or racing bad but then I will check mu pulse and its like 80..and i will have the adrenaline feeling but no high rate like it usually is when i have svt attack...Do I know what type i have...well, I think my cardio isnt completly for sure if its paroximal tachardia(or whatever its called..lol) or just sinus tachardia. On my holter monitor he said I had a episode that was 140, another at 155 and then one at 167 wich he said looked like a svt.So, i dunno what to think...I feel like he dont take it serious. But he did he say he would write me a script for a bb if i would like...

The skipping beats are actually more annoying to me than my svt ever was.  The pvcs/pacs and go off all day long whereas the svt would only last a minute or so, sometimes longer but it would stop.  You are likely feeling sinus tachycardia for a day or so after an episode.  The heart gets a bit worked up but it should calm down again.  How often do you get the episodes?  Do you know what type of svt you have?  I had an ablation for my svt in Sept.  Though svt is no suppose to hurt your heart I was starting to get almost weekly episodes so it was starting to disrupt my life.  Most svts are fixed pretty easy.  That said, I was like you, I didn't notice the pvcs/pacs much before the ablation and now I do.  So those beats would still persist even if you did get an ablation to correct your svt.

Mine seem to come in waves. I'll have a few good days with only a few or none, and then something will trigger them and I'll get a batch that continues for several days.

Unfortunately anything exciting I do triggers them so I don't know how I can live life without having fun. It really makes life miserable at times...

I agree about the last 6 months being a bit much. I am the same way, just trying to take a back seat and not dig any further. Thank you for sharing your story! :)

I haven't had them, or wasn't aware I had them until the past couple months.  I was aware there was something besides my svt going on but was not informed what it was until I had a bout of them probably 10,000 a day for about a week but they slowly settled down and now I only seem to have maybe 100 tops a day.  I do have them everyday but mostly notice them after I eat.  I have not had them long enough to say whether or not I will have another bad bout of them in the future or if the only reason I had the bad bout of them was residual effects from the ablation for my svt.   I do notice they get strong when I am anxious.  I can be worked up, stressed about things and not have any but it is more when I am anxious that I will fall into bigeminy but it only lasts as long as I am anxious and goes away pretty quickly.  Since I mostly get them after eating I should probaby go get my stomach checked out but I am taking a break from medical things for a bit.  The past 6 months has been a bit much.  So that's my story.
