Should I request a Beta Blocker

I am suffering ectopics, have been for some time. My holter has definately captured them this time so I will have answers soon. I have no idea how many I am having or even what they are officially at this point. It takes so long to make appointments and get answers where I live you have to be 2 steps ahead to keep things moving as a patient armed with your own information.

Assuming I go in and am getting benign PVCs should I request to try a beta blocker? I am a 28 year old male and these are otherwise ruining my life  however I do not want a cure that is worse than the disease or worry that it is going to trigger a fatal arythmia. I also don't want something that because I am young that it will destroy my body over a long period time. The thing is I cannot deal with these anymore mentally speaking so it is either this or anxiety or anti depresants so that hopefully I will not care when I feel them.

I have used Toprol XL (Metoprolol ER) for many years. One side effect I noticed is that my ankles would swell (my eGFR is only 53), but that swelling is since gone down. I have experimented with the dosage and determined that at 50mg my PVC's/PAC's go down to ~20,000 to 25,000 per day (calculated based on one minute readings per test) as compared to 38,000 per day (based on Holter monitor) and I settled on that. Originally I was prescribed Beta Blockers for blood pressure reduction - didn't work.

Yeah, cardiology will give beta blockers to just about anyone, no harm in trying it.
