Slow Heart Rate and skipped heart beat

Hi, i'm been experiencing off and on skipped heart beat with weird sensations (probably 20 a day that i can feel) and a low heart rate of 52bpm. I'm in decent shape, but not very good as i've only been able to run 2 miles, but I am 330 pounds and started running when i was 380. I dont seem to be experiencing any shortness of breath but I am somtimes feeling a little resistance when I inhale. I'm 19 and still living with my parents and they dont want to take me to the doctor, but I dont have a car. Should I be concerned, or should I push to get to a doctor? My blood pressure can be a little high somtimes but I have anxiety and its only high systolic (140) over 60

Hope. I have been having very similiar problems. I am wondering if you ever found out anything more. It seems to be unusual for anxiety to bring on a low pulse and or low bp. Usually the opposite. I am having no anxiety just random "panic attacks" as they did not find any problemswith the ekg or chest xray and bloodwork. However my attacks come on with physical symptoms first and fear after which I am told is not the norm. I had not traumatic life event and if anything am under less strss than i used to be. When my breathing gets at its worst just as you described i find it is when my pulse is 60 or below. I too am overweight and had statted exercising april and may of last year. These problems started in beginning of july. I used an app while exercise an dpulse was completely normal at that time. 60 to 70 at rest. 70 to 80 up moving around. 90 or higher walking and exercising. No wit is xonstanly going 60 or below at rest. Usually high 50s. Lowest was 49. I have stopped exercisin gas i no longer fel like i can breathe right. I am not in shape for it to be anywhere near that. I feel like my dr should be checking into
hormones o rother causes but she just reads everyrhing off as anxiety.

Well, what an interesting few weeks its been. So I had to go to the ER on sep 27 a week ago. Because I started to get a new symptom. The doctor appointment kept on getting delayed by the insurance system, but that was finally sorted out. Here is the weird part, when I started to get the new symptom it was unlike anything I felt before. It was like my heart was pumping air, and seemed to only happen at rest. As if my heart slowing down seemed to bring it on. So after going to the ER, my heart would only periodically slow down when the doctors and nurses were not there so they kept on missing it on the real time monitor, and of course not there to be recorded. But when the sensation did happen, it was clearly from what I could tell, the normal wave, BUT it was missing the first hump (the p wave). So I came to find out that it mostly resembles junctional rhythm. It happened continuously during the periods of it. They sent home an event monitor, but the doctor cut it a week short and claimed that everything was fine.

Am I an idiot or insane or something? I experience this frightening symptom every night now, making me out of breath and panicked (standing up speeds up my heart rate and relieves it). I have read around and the event monitor is supposed to go for at least 2 weeks for accuracy, and the symptoms i'm having were matched up on the real time monitor as it happened. So why are they claiming i'm fine? In the hospital they found a 2/6 murmur that i've never had before, but that my heart looks structurally fine on the x-ray and echo. I'm still doing the thing my with my normal doctor, but its been delayed by life events. Should I press on with my normal doctor (like a second opinion) or should i just take the other peoples word for it, because i'm getting the feeling of being screwed over.

Remember, I have skipped beats on top of all of this.

I ended up not going. I'm pretty much sure now that they really do only increase 30 minutes after exercise. Considering the fact that i've had anxiety my entire life and only started having these tell now makes me suspect i may have too high adrenaline levels. But i'm now scheduling an actual appointment now that my health care is ready to go again. My parents have finally given in, as my brothers backed me up to convince them i'm not insane. Not that me loaning them $650 dollars ment anything 2 weeks before that. Parents *roll eyes* Just letting you guys know that i'm not dead, yet. There are still the possibilities that i have an over conditioned heart and maybe thickening from it, or maybe even a heriditary valve problem from my moms side, my bro has a benign valve murmur. I guess its possible i have one that they never caught.Either way, i have no signs of heart failure or heart attack. Other than the tight chested feeling you get when your anxious.

you fit and healthy so i wouldnt worry about the low pulse because you sound fit, you have anxiety like me and thinking about these ectopic beats will increase them aswell as the anxiety, do not read anything on the internet was the advice my doctor told me www.patient.co.uk is a site what doctors use too so i only look up on here, it will tell you serious n non serious symptoms, i have to ignore/let them happen and in time they do vanish or you wont notice them, your parents should take you to the doc really if it were me id go to er and i did once there were nothing up but it put my mid at rest, if u get the all clear do ot read up on the internet, good luck

Ok, they have been starting to get really bad. My heart feels like it pauses for too long and its feels hard to breath when it happens. I cant wait any longer, i'm going to the doctor after I wake up this morning one way or another.

And I have no history of heart murmur. I got fiths disease a long time ago from wrestling, and it seems that ever since then my arms are just naturally redder, and many doctors have commented on it but I've had to tell them that it always seems to have been here.

I should probably mention that i dont run as much as I did a month ago. Although I probably could run 2 miles right now, I usually just play a lot of basketball. I do notice that when its hot out, I get out of breath real easy, but thats probably because i'm heat sensitive (i cant stand being warm), and I prefer the cold and never use a jacket unless its less than 30 degrees out. Its very strange, because after I play basketball, about an hour afterward when i'm resting, i get more of those skipped heartbeats than usual. Like today i'm getting one every 5 minutes, with occasionaly two in a row after I played basketball.

But I really need to mention this to everyone, I have an extremely high iron diet. Not that it should effect me too much, because my ancestry had a very high iron diet. I understand that iron overdose can lead to some of the problems i'm having. But i feel its more likely that I could have hypothyroidism because my mom has it. I'm just so tired of having this problem. I sometimes feel hopeless, sometimes even coming to terms with the possibility of dieing. But my parents dont seem to take me seriously because I cant operate at a normal level. Thats not how i feel inside. I feel like i'm struggling all the time.

I have to say that i love your post name that you have chosen.....one thing at a time...if you are experiencing say in the neighborhood of 20 weird beats in a day put it in perspective because our heart beats over 100,000 times in any given day on an average.  If you are running two miles a day and your heart rate is 52 well personally i think that that may be within normal limits because you have athletes like Lance Armstrong who are in really great shape and his pulse rate is in the upper 30's but you really don't want to have these  two  issues together.  The MAJOR thing to me is congrats on the serious weight loss and the running that you are doing...that is so amazing.  You want to always remember that when there is a little weight issue and you begin an exercise program it should be monitored by a doc no matter what.  If your parents are refusing to take you to the docs and you have a doc that you have seen before for any reason i would simply just make the call to their office and tell the staff that you want the doc to call you back either between or after patients because you have a quick question that needs answering and let he/she do it over the phone...problem solved...if they feel that they need to see you you can always tell your folks that you called the doc just to get an opinion and they thought that they needed to see you in their office...what can your parents say to that.  Keep up the good work HopeForHumanity you give alot of other people on this site hope....you need to post on the Medhelp Exercise Forum on how you are accomplishing your goals to help others.....

It seems to increase just fine, although it can stay above 100 for a long while afterwards (probably takes an hour just to get below 100). But it does get up to 160-180 when i exercise. Is it possible that starting exercise with my high weight has caused an over conditioned heart?

Hello :) question.. Does your heart rate increase with exercise like it should? If it doesn't I'd be a little worried but you should still go to the doctors so they can do some tests such as an ekg and thyroid test etc. Hopefully they figure out the cause! Feel better :)
