Stress Test

I am scheduled for a stress test in two weeks.  I looked on the internet and this is what I found:

Stage Min % grade/incline MPH METS
1 3 10                             1.7 4.7
2 6 12                  2.5 7.0
3 9 14                  3.4 10.1
4 12 16                  4.2 12.9
5 15 18                  5.0 15.0

I went to the gym and tried this.  I set the treadmill to the incline and speed stated above.  I found it nearly impossible.  Is it really at that high of an incline?

The test is managed to get your heart rate up, it isn't designed to make you meet any specific workout level.  The numbers you found may be typical, but if they are too hard for your the person managing your test will not ask you to do them...you'll do something less.

It is a stress test, not a stressed-out test.
