Hi everyone! I'm a 28 yo female, slightly overweight (5'7, 165lbs). I've experienced random episodes of tachycardia, usually brought on by cough medicine or pain medicine (narcotics during day surgery etc.). My resting heart rate has slowly climbed to above 100, and my health has seemed to just decline. I went to the gym a couple months ago and this was the first time I had an episode without any medication or anything, within the first 15 minutes I was there. Was rushed to ER, HR in the high 170s, blood pressure a bit high, they gave me Ativan although it didn't do much. Did an ECG, electricity was normal, it was just going too fast. They discharged me with no real answers. My doctor put me on a low dose of Metoprolol to slow my resting heart rate some until we figure it out but it's almost like my heart got used to it within a few weeks and has been slowly climbing again. Stress test was normal, had a 24 hour monitor but haven't gotten my results yet for this. I was hoping it was my thyroid, as there are issues that run in my family and I have felt my overall health declining but the blood test came back normal. Anyone else experience similar or have advice?
